RN Lt (Ordnance) Mess Uniform. 1947
A 1947 dated Royal Navy officer's Number 2 mess uniform ranked to a Lieutenant of the Ordnance branch, consisting of jacket, waistcoat and trousers (shirt/tie/braces not included, shirts/braces usually available as an option). Doeskin jacket has RN Lt's lace with the blue distinction cloth of the Ordnance branch, brassed King's crown RN officers' buttons (no link buttons) and mountings for aiguilettes/shoulder boards. White cotton waistcoat is full backed with KC buttons and adjuster at waist. Doeskin trousers are high-backed with button fly/waist fastening and braces buttons. By Gieves. Named to same man,

Sizes: Jacket approx 37/39" chest. Trousers approx 36" waist. Actual measurements are:
Chest Width (laid flat): 20.5"
Jacket Waist (width, laid flat): 19" (buttoned up)
Waistcoat Waist: 19"
Trouser waist: 36.5" (+3.5" to let out)
Inside Leg: 29" (+1.5" to let down)
Condition: Jacket and waistcoat both clean and damage free. Trousers have a single moth hole of approx 8mm x 2mm to rear of lower left leg, other than that in excellent condition. All show remarkably little wear considering the age. The rank lace is faded.
