Royal Corps of Signals Captain's Greatcoat. KC
A British Army officer's bespoke greatcoat to a Royal Corps of Signals Captain. With brass R.Sigs Kings crown buttons (mix of Gaunt & Firmin) and metal/enamalled stars/pips, By Farrell & Sons of Camberley. Coat is 1/2 lined, has half belt with 3 buttons, skirt pockets, pleated rear, and is stamped MJR Fletcher 5 (promoted wartime substantive Captain and temporary Major on 1/9/1942).
Date: Not dated. Presumed to be early 1940's based on buttons and known service history of owner.
Sizes:Jacket approx 37/40" chest depending on garments worn underneath.
Chest Width (laid flat): 21"
Waist (width, laid flat): 20"
Condition: Very good. Clean and strong. Slight musty storage smell which will air out. Has 2 holes - approx 15mm x 8mm to right cuff, and a round hole of approx 5mm diameter to right skirt (both visible in photo).
