Royal Artillery Captain's Greatcoat, 1941 A British Army officer's bespoke greatcoat dated 1941 to a Royal Artillery Captain. With brass RA Kings crown buttons, and metal/enamalled stars/pips and RA arm-of-service stripes to both arms. By Herbert Chappell Ltd. Coat is 1/2 lined, has half belt with 3 buttons, skirt pockets, pleated rear, and turned cuffs.
Sizes:Jacket approx 38/41" chest depending on garments worn underneath.
Chest Width (laid flat): 22"
Waist (width, laid flat): 20"
Condition: Generally in good clean condition, although has some moth damage. Two holes to front (approx 5mm diameter each, see photo #15). Area of moth tracing and a hole approx 3mm dia to rear skirt (see photo #16), and a hole approx 5mm dia below rear belt (photo #17).
