Sherwood Rangers Yeomanry Corporal, 1914. A WW1-era Sherwood Rangers Yeomanry uniform consisting of tunic, trousers, cords/aiguilettes and cap. Tunic in dark green with yellow facings, brass SRY buttons, SRY collar badges, chain epaulettes, No1 Corporal's chevrons, Austrian knot cuff detail in yellow cotton, '14/15 Star with rosette (on pin), yellow cotton cords/aiguilettes with brass fittings. By Hobson & Sons. Jacket is not labelled. Trousers are high-backed with twin 3/4" stripes in yellow cotton, braces buttons, button fly. The original glued on paper label is still in place, dated 6th June 1914 and named to "A.E.Cooper". Cap in dark green felt with yellow band, leather strap, brass Sherwood Rangers Yeomanry cap badge, General Service brass buttons. Handwitten "Sergt.Cooper" inside sweat band.
Items came with a postcard/photo of a Sherwood Rangers Corporal (with remains of cigarette). Cannot confirm if this is Corp/Sgt Cooper or not.
Condition: Overall in very good condition. Only light wear to jacket and trousers - both clean and damage free. Cap has wear to the peak, and a single black mark to yellow band (approx 6mm), but no holes or damage to the surface. Strap and inner sweat band leather is dry but intact and still retains some flexibility.
