Royal Engineer Colonel 1936 British Army Royal Engineer 1936 dated officer's mess dress consisting of jacket, waistcoat and trousers (shirt/tie not included, shirt usually available as option). Red wool jacket with black facings has gilt RE collar badges, Colonel's (King's crown) rank insignia and brass territorial "T"s. Waistcoat is full backed with brass "GR" RE buttons and rear waist adjuster. Trousers have button fly, hook/eye waist fastening, leather boot straps and 2" stripe. Jacket by Moss Bros named to a Col E.P.LeBreton, trousers by Moss Bros to a LtCol R Maggeridge.
Colonel LeBreton entered Woolwich academy 1901. Lt in 1st King George's Own Bengal Sappers & Miners 1911. Acheived rank of Major during WW1. Knighted 1941.
Condition: Jacket and waistcoat in good condition. Clean and damage free. Trousers have some wine/port spots down the lower half of one red stripe and some light marks inside of calfs which should clean out. Otherwise clean and damage free.
