RAF Mess Uniform, Flight Lt. Pilot
RAF No.5 mess uniform consisting of jacket, waistcoat and trousers (shirt/tie not included, braces/shirts usually available as an option). Jacket is ranked to a Flight Lieutenant and has mounted QC buttons, link buttons (1xRAF & 1xRN) and pilot's brevet/"wings". Wool waistcoat is full backed with brass RAF buttons and a rear waist adjuster. Trousers are high-backed with zip fly and braces buttons.

Date:     1974

Sizes:    Jacket approx 38/40" chest. Trousers approx 36" waist. Actual measurements are:

Chest Width (laid flat):               20.5"

Shoulder:                                   17"

Jacket Waist (width, buttoned):  19"

Length:                                       20.5"

Sleeve:                                       24.5"

Waistcoat waist (laid flat):          19"

Trouser waist:                            36" (+1.5" to let out)

Inside Leg:                                 28.5" (+1.5" to let down)

Condition:      Waistcoat has a small area of surface moth tracing (not hole) on right lapel (opnly visible on close inspection). Otherwise damage free. Clean. Only light wear.
