49 Patt Battledress - RA Air Observation Pilot Major

A British Army '49 Pattern Battle Dress uniform consisting of blouse and trousers (shirt, tie, braces, belts available as options). Blouse is by B.Bloom Ltd dated 1953, with embroidered Major's crowns with red Royal Artillery backing, army pilot's brevet/"wings" (Queen's crown), ribbons for a pre-'62 Campaign Service Medal with MiD oak leaf, Defence Medal, War Medal and Africa General Service Medal (Mau Mau rebellion/Kenya). There is a tartan patch to each arm which we believe to be a Royal Scots Fusilier's flash. From the insignia we assume this blouse was owned by a Royal Artillery Air Observation pilot. Trousers are '49 Pattern BD trousers, select from options. A contemporary wool shirt, and a modern wool tie/braces can be added as options. Date:  Blouse 1953. Trousers as described.

Blouse:  Labelled Size 16. Height 6'1-6'2, Breast 39"-40", Waist 34"-35". Actual measurements are:

Chest Width (laid flat):  22"

Shoulder:  17"

Jacket Waist:  18"

Length:  21"

Sleeve:  26"

Trousers: Select from options.

Condition:  Blouse - Clean, although with some moth damage, mainly to lower front. Holes of approx 8mm x 3mm below right lapel (see photo #10), approx 2cm x 7mm to front above belt (photo #12), a couple of holes both approx 1cm x 6mm to right breast pocket and below pocket (photo #13), a few other smaller holes to lower front area of blouse, and a hole approx 8mm x 3mm to rear arm (photo #14). Trousers, expect light wear as standard. Minor moth damage (a few pinhead sized holes and/or surface tracing) likely to trousers unless stated otherwise. More noticeable/serious defects, if any, will be stated in options. Shirts. All in good used condition unless stated otherwise.
