WRAF Cap - 1950s A hard-to-find Women's Royal Air Force/WRAF female cap from the early post-war period. Believed to have been issued from early 1950's, in between the wartime soft khaki WAAF cap and the WRAF "stewardess" type cap. Cap is felt on a hard shell, with plastic chinstrap on black plastic/bakelite KC RAF buttons, and brass KC cap badge. Cap has remains of waterproof liner inside, and original manufacturers label "Ref 221/793 Failsworth Hats Ltd 1952" with broad arrow.
Size: Labelled 6 5/8 (approx 53/54cm)
Condition: Reasonable. The shell has several dents, as per photos, although no tears or significant creases. The inner waterproof lining is fragmented. There are a couple of moth nips (not holes) to left side near button (see photo) and an area of moth tracing of approx 1cm length to right side.
