A 1913 dated WW1-era Royal Engineers service dress tunic with remains of original paper label. Scarlet melton wool jacket with blue piping to front and hem, black velvet cuffs/collar, yellow cord detailing to cuffs, collar and epaulettes. Half lined with blanket material. Buttons are kings crown brass Royal Engineer buttons by W.Twigg & Co and appear to be on original stitching (other than 1 that has been strengthened with white cotton). The original glued on paper label is still in place although damaged. Date of Jun 1913 visible. Stamped "W^D B" inside arm.
Size: Approx 36/37". Actual measurements are:
Chest Width (laid flat): 19"
Jacket Waist (width, laid flat): 16.5"
Condition: Overall in very good condition. There is a single moth hole (approx 3mm, on left arm, see photo). Some marks around waist from belt (one to front, couple of rear). 2 buttons slightly dented, rest in good condition. Some fading to yellow braid.
