General Staff Colonel's No.1 Blues Uniform A senior officer's Number 1 Blues uniform consisting of patrol jacket, trousers, gold epaulettes, aiguilette, waist sash and braces. Jacket bespoke tailored by Moss Bros Ltd is black silk lined, with studs for a white collar, detachable gold mylar 3 cord ceremonial shoulder boards with Colonel's crowns and pips/stars, screw-in Colonel/Brigadier's "ER" buttons to boards, Col/Brig No1 dress gorgets, ribbons for an OBE, Military Cross, '39/45 Star, Burma Star, Defence Medal, War Medal, '53 Coronation Medal, Queen's Silver Jubilee Medal and a Territorial Army Medal with 2 rosettes. Buttons are staybrite QC Col/Brig's Royal Cypher "ER" buttons. Crimson waist sash with fine tassles and brass fittings by Hobson & Sons. Aiguilette is of gold mylar cord with metal "tags". Trousers are cavalry style fitted (narrow) leg with leather boot straps, 2" crimson wool stripe, button fly, high backed with braces buttons. A pair of grey button-on army braces are included (not the blue clip-on braces pictured).
Trousers named to Col. R.G.Fullerton, ex-Royal Artillery 1926 to 1958, BEF liasion officer, SHAEF, military attache in Rome etc.
Note: Gold aguilettes are assumed not to be original to the uniform.
Condition: Jacket in generally good condition. Overall clean and mainly damage free, just showing light wear, however there is a single hole to the collar of approx 2cm x 1.2cm (see photo #17). Could be patched/darned, or the backing coloured black to minimise it's visibility. There are perhaps 2 or 3 small holes (approx 1 to 2mm diamater) elsewhere on the jacket but not really noticeable. Trousers are in very good condition - clean and damage free.
