Mess Uniform - NSY Lieutenant A collectable 1933 British Army North Somerset Yeomanry officer pattern mess uniform consisting of jacket, trousers and waistcoat. Black wool jacket with white/cream facings has Lieutenant rank and red silk lining. White/cream wool waistcoat is full backed and has engraved NSY buttons. Trousers are high backed with button fly/waist, braces buttons, leather under-boot straos and twin 3/4" stripes.
Named to P K George who appears in the Army Lists of 1937, '38 and '40 with a commission date of 12/5/1936 in the North Somerset Yeomanry (Dragoons).
Condition: In generally good condition. Jacket and waistcoat are damage free. Trousers have a period repair (approx 8mm long) to one leg (see photo #15). One under-boot strap has a broken metal frame, although still useable. White/cream facings have age and food related marks and some very minor moth tracing. Otherwise no nasty stains or marks. Holes to lapels where collar dogs were fitted.
