RN Commander No1 Uniform
A Royal Navy Number 1 uniform consisting of heavyweight doeskin jacket and trousers (shirt/tie not included, cap available as option). Jacket has Commander's lace, King's crown brassed officer's buttons, aiguilette fittings and ribbons for a 39/45 Star, Atlantic Star, Pacific Star, Italy Star, War Medal and a General Service Medal. Trousers have button fly/eye waist fastening, belt loops and braces buttons

We believe this is the uniform of Chipps Selby-Bennett RN, author of "Seahorse"

Date:    1954

Sizes:   Jacket approx 44/45" chest. Trousers approx 35" waist. Actual measurements are:

Chest Width (laid flat):              23.5"

Shoulder:                                  18"

Jacket Waist (width, laid flat):   21" (max 39/40" waist)

Length:                                     31"

Sleeve:                                     25"   

Trouser waist:                          35.5" (+1" to let out)

Inside Leg:                              33.5" (+2" to let down)

Condition:     Good condition. Only light wear. Clean and damage free externally. Internally there are some holes (burns?) to the inner lining (see photo). Light fading to rank lace.
