RAF Mess Uniform, Air Commodore
RAF No.5 mess uniform consisting of jacket, waistcoat and trousers (shirt/tie not included, braces/shirts usually available as an option). Jacket is ranked to an Air Commodore with a pilot's brevet/"wings", brass Queen's crown buttons and link buttons. Wool waistcoat is full backed with a rear waist adjuster. Trousers are high waisted with zip fly, hook/eye waist and braces buttons. 

Date:        1957

Sizes:      Jacket approx 36/38" chest. Trousers approx 31" waist. Actual measurements are:

Chest Width (laid flat):                19.5"

Shoulder:                                    17"

Jacket Waist (width, buttoned):   18"

Length:                                        21"

Sleeve:                                        24"

Waistcoat waist (laid flat):            17"

Trouser waist:                              31" (+2" to let out)

Inside Leg:                                   32" (+1" to let down)

Condition:         Jacket in generally good used condition. Lapels have some wear at bottom edges. Fading of rank lace. Light wear but no marks or damage. Waistcoat in good condition (light wear but damage free, Generally clean although there is a dark mark on front (see photo). Trousers are in poor condition. Hole on fly (see photo). Visible mark on leg (may clean out). Would benefit from a clean.
