RN Surgeon Lieutenant Mess Uniform
A Royal Naval officer's doeskin Number 2 mess uniform ranked to a Surgeon Lieutenant, consisting of jacket and trousers (shirt/tie/braces not included, shirts/braces usually available as an option). Jacket has RN Lieutenant's lace with red medical branch distinction cloth and Queen's crown RN officers' buttons. Trousers have button fly/waist fastening and braces buttons.

Date:     Jacket undated. Trousers 1948 (last digit is difficult to read)

Although these came to us as a set from the original owner, they do not appear to be an original pair, the trousers being older than the jacket. There is a very slight shade difference between the two.

Sizes:   Jacket approx 36/37" chest. Trousers approx 31" waist. Actual measurements are:

Chest Width (laid flat):      19"

Length:                              21.5"

Sleeve:                              23"

Trouser waist:                    31" (+2" to let out)

Inside Leg:                         29" (+1.5" to let down)
