Mess Uniform - Royal Scots Lt Col
A Royal Scots Regiment mess dress uniform consisting of jacket and trousers (shirt/tie not included, shirt available as an option). Red wool jacket with black facings, Lieutenant Colonel's rank and mounted Royal Scots buttons on cuffs (1 missing). Trews have button fly, hook/eye waist fastening, braces buttons and leather underboot straps.

Date:            1965

Sizes:           Jacket approx 37/38" chest. Trousers approx 34" waist. Actual measurements are:

Chest Width (laid flat):  20"

Shoulder:                      17"

Length:                          21.5"

Sleeve:                          25"

Trouser waist:                34" (+3" to let out)

Inside Leg:                     32"  (to instep)

Condition:       In reasonable condition although there is moth damage. Jacket has a hole (approx 2mm) on rear below collar (see photo), 3 or 4 smaller/less noticable holes elsewhere on back, a 1cm tear on cuff where button is missing (see photo) and elsewhere some minor surface moth tracing. Trews have a number of moth holes but these aren't especially noticeable due to the pattern. Largest are two holes approx 5mm x 2mm near the fly, Elswhere there are perhaps half a down much smaller holes which can only be found by searching carefully. We have moth treated this uniform with Formula C+ which leaves a slightly "greasy" feeling residue so it would benefit from a clean.
