State Ceremonial HC Tunic
An extremely rare Household Cavalry bandsman's State Dress "gold coat" ceremonial tunic as worn during formal state occasions when a senior member of the royal family is present such as the recent funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, state visits etc.

A crimson velvet coat overlaid with broad gold lace. Blue velvet collar and cuffs. Buttons and insignia have been removed.

Size:          Approx 40/42" chest. Actual measurements are:

Chest Width (laid flat):               22"

Shoulder:                                   18"

Jacket Waist (width, laid flat):    19"

Length:                                      37.5"

Sleeve:                                      24"

Condition:     Generally good condition. Buttons (3 on lower front and on each cuff) and royal insignia ("ER" and crown on front and back) have been removed before disposal by the MoD. The buttonholes have NOT been cut on this coat. One of the thinner vertical gold braids on the front is partially unstitched. There are some minor "pulls" to braid elsewhere but nothing significant. Some strain/splitting to seam under front right armpit (see photo). No other damage. Gold is bright with only slight fading.
