RTR Lt Colonel Mess
British Army cavalry-pattern Royal Tank Regiment mess uniform (jacket, waistcoat and trousers). Jacket is black Melton wool with black velvet collar/cuffs, gold trim and Lieutenant Colonel's rank on sewn-on gold cord epaulettes. Waistcoat is red wool, full backed, with gold lace and ball details. Trousers are high-waisted with lace detailing at side seams, zip fly, braces buttons and elastic under-boot straps.

Date:        1974

Size:         Approx 38/39" chest, 35" waist. Actual measurements are:

Chest Width (laid flat):            20"

Shoulder:                                18"

Jacket Waist (width, laid flat):  n/a, worn open.

Length:                                   22.5"

Sleeve:                                   24"

Waistcoat Waist:                    19" (laid flat)

Collar:                                    16"

Trouser Waist:                        35" (+1.5" to let out)

Inside Leg:                             31" (to instep)

Condition:         Generally good condition although a little "tired" due to fading of gold lace and some wear around collar edge. Very minor/discrete marks on waistcoat front. A number of light marks on trouser legs which should sponge/wash out. No damage or other marks.
