Royal Artillery Major Mess
A Royal Artillery  officer-pattern mess uniform consisting of jacket, waistcoat and trousers. Jacket is black wool with red facings with brass King's crown Royal Artillery buttons, Major's rank and parachute trained badge. Waistcoat has brass Queen's crown buttons and rear waist adjuster. Trousers are (slightly) high-backed with zip fly, leather under-boot straps, braces buttons and 2" stripes.

Date:       1984

Size:       Jacket approx 40/41" chest. Waist approx 37". Actual measurements are:

Chest Width (laid flat):              21"

Shoulder:                                  17.5"

Jacket Waist (width, laid flat):    n/a, worn open.

Length:                                       20"

Sleeve:                                       25"

Waistcoat waist:                         19.5" 

Trousers Waist:                          37" (+1" to let out)

Inside Leg:                                 29" (to instep, +1" to let down)

Condition:           Good condition. Light wear. Clean and damage free other than a couple of pin-head sized holes in trousers, only visible on close inspection..
