Royal Engineers '40Patt BD Blouse
A British Army 1940 Pattern battledress blouse with Royal Engineers cloth shoulder titles, Sergeant's rank, RE "bombs", lanyard, 1 Corps unit inisgnia and ribbons for a '39/45 Star, France/Germany Star, Defence Medal and a Special Constabulary Long Service/Good Conduct Medal. . 

Blouse was worn by an ex-RE Sgt who remained in service post-war, completed a late-entry commision and transferred to The Border Regiment as a Second Lieutenant. 

Date:      Undated/Illegible.

Sizes:     Labelled Size 6. Height 5'5-5'6, Breast 38"-39", Waist 32"-34". Will fit approx 38" to 40" chest. Actual measurements are:

Chest Width (laid flat):              21.5"

Shoulder:                                  17"

Jacket Waist (width, laid flat):   17.5"

Length:                                     20.5"

Sleeve:                                     22"

Condition:         Blouse has light wear but is clean & damage-free other than a single pin-head sized hole on right breast pocket (see photo). There is some moth damage to RE and I Corps badges on right arm (as per photos).
