State Ceremonial HC Tunic
An extremely rare Household Cavalry bandsman's State Dress "gold coat" ceremonial tunic as worn during formal state occasions when a senior member of the royal family is present such as the recent funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, state visits etc.

A crimson velvet coat overlaid with broad gold lace. Blue velvet collar and cuffs. Buttons and insignia have been removed.

Size:          Approx 38/39" chest. Actual measurements are:

Chest Width (laid flat):               20.5"

Shoulder:                                   16"

Jacket Waist (width, laid flat):    17.5"

Length:                                      34"

Sleeve:                                      22"

Collar:                                       16.5"

Condition:     Reasonable/good condition. Buttons (3 on lower front and on each cuff) and royal insignia ("ER" and crown on front and back) have been removed before disposal by the MoD. As is usual, during disposal the MoD have cut the coat on the front at the lowest/third button (see photo) which could of course be stitched.There is uneven fading of the gold stripes. No other damage or marks.
