State Ceremonial HC Tunic
An extremely rare Household Cavalry bandsman's State Dress "gold coat" ceremonial tunic as worn during formal state occasions when a senior member of the royal family is present such as the recent funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, state visits etc.

A crimson velvet coat overlaid with broad gold lace. Blue velvet collar and cuffs. Buttons and insignia have been removed.

Size:          Approx 40/42" chest. Actual measurements are:

Chest Width (laid flat):               22"

Shoulder:                                   17"

Jacket Waist (width, laid flat):    20.5"

Condition:     Reasonable/good condition. Buttons (3 on lower front and on each cuff) and royal insignia ("ER" and crown on front and back) have been removed before disposal by the MoD. Middle button-hole has been cut, as is usual during the MOD disposal process.Some loose stitching to one row of gold-braid on one arm (see photo). Signs of wear/marks around upper edge of collar. Strained/slighhtly split seams on rear of each shoulder (see photos). No other damage. Clean. Gold bright.
